

worship leader / director of music
Morningside Baptist is in a season of revitalization and seeking an energetic and multi-gifted musician to lead our Worship. This role consists in leading Worship through theologically sound and congregationally focused music.
The church is dedicated to resourcing this position with practical support, spiritual partnership, and training. This is an excellent opportunity for someone called to serve who desires to grow in experience and impact while serving in a flexible, mission-driven setting.
primary responsibilities

Lead the vocal and instrumentation aspects of the worship service. We have a pianist (no choir).

Select the primary songs for worship and plan proper rehearsal time (typically Sunday morning). We currently sing traditional and contemporary hymns (Getty, City Alight, Sovereign Grace, etc.). We are open to other theologically sound contemporary songs and styles.

Maintain the basic sound system and equipment making suggestions for improvement.

Communicate weekly with Senior Pastor and other members to discuss and plan the worship service.

Prepare and create lyrical and scriptural media slides for the worship service using the current software provided.

Participate in church discipleship opportunities and functions; supporting as needed on Sunday mornings with various age groups.

Qualifications and Training:

Able to play guitar is preferred but not required.

Applicants can be single or married; male or female.

Current students are encouraged to apply and would obtain valuable experience.

Serve within agreement of the foundational beliefs of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

A heart for connecting with the unchurched in the community.

Will meet regularly with Senior Pastor to ensure a unified vision for the worship service.

Hours AND Benefits

Work Hours: 6-8 hours per week which consists of Sunday and occasional weekday night.

Benefits:

$200 weekly.

Future supplemental income will be discussed.
